Omawumi, Ric Hassani, 9ice replace Simi, DBanj, Asika as Nigerian Idol judges

Nigerian songstress and Nigerian Idol star Omawumi Megbele, Ric Hassani and 9ice have replaced Simi, D’Banj and Obi Asika as judges for the season 9 of the Nigerian Idols.

This was recently made known by organiser, MultiChoice Nigeria, after announcing kick off dates for the ninth season.

Executive Head Content and Channels: West Africa, MultiChoice, Dr. Busola Tejumola  shared her thoughts on the upcoming season saying, “Nigerian Idol has continuously set the standard for music talent shows in Africa, and Season 9 promises to be no exception. With Omawunmi, Ric Hassani, and 9ice on board, viewers can expect unparalleled talent, excitement, and entertainment. We are proud to showcase the immense musical prowess that Nigeria has to offer and look forward to another unforgettable season.”

Nigerian Idol Season 9, with its theme ‘Let Your Dreams Take Flight,’ is set to premiere on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 7 pm on all Africa Magic Channels and will begin live performances from Sunday May 26, 2024.
